Djourou Joins Hannover

Arsene Wenger has continued to cut the deadwood from his squad after letting defender Johan Djourou join German side Hannover 96.

Unfortunately as with Chamakh’s move to West Ham, it’s only on loan until the end of the season and I’ve heard rumours we’ll have to pay a percentage of his wages, but at least we’ve got the majority of his wages off the books.

I’ve always been a huge admirer of Johan’s and had huge hopes for him 3-4 years ago. I remember he was our best defender during the second half of the 2010/11 season and I really thought he would build on that form and cement his place in the first team.

But his form dipped drastically, particularly after he was forced to play at right back for large parts, and he’s been outcast from first team duties this season, making only two appearances in the Capital One Cup.

At 25-years-old, Djourou needs to be playing games regularly and he’s not going to be getting that at Arsenal so a move away from the club is best for all parties. Hopefully his departure means the boss is ready to bring in a versatile defender with Montpellier’s Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa heavily linked in recent weeks.

for sure am equally supporting that if arsenal can only try to work on the front line (strriking line ) i do think that some thing could happen in this coming season.
